Encryption Standards and Data Security in LiveAgent
This article explains the encryption standards used by LiveAgent to protect your data, including encryption in transit and information about key management.
Overview
LiveAgent implements industry-standard encryption protocols to ensure the security and confidentiality of all data transmitted between your browser and LiveAgent servers. All communications remain encrypted whether you are using a hosted LiveAgent account or accessing the platform through any client application.
Encryption in Transit
All communications between your browser and LiveAgent servers are encrypted using the following standards:
- HTTPS Protocol: All connections to LiveAgent are secured through HTTPS (HyperText Transfer Protocol Secure)
- Transport Layer Security (TLS): LiveAgent uses industry-standard TLS encryption to protect data transmission over public networks
This encryption ensures that all data transmitted—including chats, emails, and other communications—remains confidential and protected from unauthorized access during transmission.
Hosted Account Security
LiveAgent hosted accounts are always accessed through a secure HTTPS connection. This means:
- All communication channels are encrypted by default
- No additional configuration is required to enable encryption
- All data in transit, including chats and emails, is automatically encrypted
When Encryption is Applied
Encryption in transit is applied to all communications, including:
- Chat messages
- Email communications
- Account login and authentication
- All other data transmitted between your browser and LiveAgent servers
Additional Security Considerations
