Overview

LiveAgent is developing a Telegram integration that will allow you to connect with customers through the Telegram messaging platform. This article clarifies which types of Telegram chats will be supported by this integration.

Supported Chat Types

The upcoming Telegram integration in LiveAgent will support the following chat type:

  • 1-1 chats (Direct messages) – One-to-one conversations between your support agents and individual customers

Unsupported Chat Types

The following Telegram chat types are not supported by the LiveAgent Telegram integration:

  • Group chats – Conversations with multiple participants in a group
  • Secret chats – Encrypted private conversations in Telegram

What This Means

With the Telegram integration, you will be able to handle direct customer inquiries through Telegram within your LiveAgent dashboard. Each conversation will be a direct message between your agent and the customer, similar to how you manage other one-to-one communication channels in LiveAgent.

If customers attempt to reach you through group chats or secret chats on Telegram, those conversations will not be integrated into LiveAgent and will need to be handled separately.
